Ai - The Good and Bad.

I am certainly not an evangelist for AI as I know that this new technology will profoundly transform our society in many ways, both good and bad.

I’m currently writing a 40,000 word thesis on AI and its creative possibilities in multimedia. I am also writing about the effect this is having on musicians and artists and the changes happening in the wider world because of it.

There are major issues with copyright and the energy needed to power these large language models. The development of audio generators has been much faster than expected too, with Suno and Udio now generating music that is indistinguishable from music made by humans. In an already difficult industry, musicians are getting screwed over again. I will be posting more over next few weeks.
